Alif Ship Management Pvt. Ltd. was established on 19th July 2025 with a clear vision: to provide shipowners with a reliable, transparent, and performance-driven management partner. Approved by the Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA), Government of India, the company is headquartered across two major maritime hubs in India, with expansion underway in Dubai, UAE Founded by a team of experienced maritime professionals — including Master Mariners and Chief Engineers — Alif Ship Management is built on the strength of real seafaring experience and deep technical knowledge. Our leadership team has hands-on operational insight from sailing on VLCCs, Aframax and Panamax tankers, LPG carriers, product tankers, and dry ships, as well as extensive shore based experience in ship management, commercial operations, dry docking, inspections, and audits.

Capt. Shaibaz Aijaz Guhagarkar
Founder & Managing Director
Managing Director A Master Mariner with over years of sailing experience, has sailed on a wide range
of vessels including VLCCs, Aframax, Panamax oil tankers, gas tankers, and product tankers. has also
played key role ashore in ship management, commercial operations, surveys, inspections, and external
audits. His strategic leadership and operational expertise form the foundation of the company’s
technical and commercial direction.
Capt. Samir Aijaz Guhagarkar
General Manager
Capt. Samir is a seasoned Master Mariner with over years of sailing experience on a diverse range of
vessels, including bulk carriers, Containers and oil tankers. His extensive seagoing background is
complemented by a strong shore-based career in ship management. He has previously worked with
several reputed ship management companies, where he was responsible for both vessel operations and
commercial management. He brings a balanced perspective of operational control, safety compliance,
and business performance, making him a valuable asset to our leadership team. With his deep
operational insight and business acumen, He ensures that vessels under our care are managed to the
highest standards of performance, safety, and cost-efficiency.
Capt. Shahid Aijaz Guhagarkar
Head of commercial department
He is a highly experienced Master Mariner with a strong background in global cargo chartering and
commercial operations. Having worked with several renowned chartering companies worldwide, he
brings in-depth knowledge of both dry and wet cargo markets, including tanker and Dry sectors. With
vast shore-based experience, He specializes in freight negotiations, voyage planning and fixture
execution, ensuring optimal returns and market positioning for vessel owners. His commercial insight
and strategic approach play a key role in aligning our operational capabilities with the dynamic demands
of the shipping market. As Head of the Commercial Department, He leads the company’s chartering
efforts with professionalism, precision, and a client-first mindset.
Capt. Shoheb Aijaz Guhagarkar
Head of Crew & Training Department
Capt. Shoheb is a young and dynamic Master Mariner with over years of command experience, having
sailed with distinction on international voyages and served with reputed shipping companies based in
Singapore and Hong Kong. His solid maritime background is further strengthened by a strong career
ashore, specializing in crew management and training. With a deep understanding of crew planning,
compliance, welfare, and professional development, He ensures that our company maintains a well
qualified, competent, and motivated pool of seafarers. He is also actively involved in enhancing training
standards, succession planning, and retention strategies to support long-term fleet performance. As
Head of the Crewing Department, He brings both operational insight and a people-centric approach to
managing the human element of ship operations.

A highly experienced and qualified business analyst, She has worked in various banking and financial
sectors globally. She brings strong analytical acumen, financial discipline, and strategic planning
capabilities to support company’s sustainable growth and international expansion.
Mr. Niyaz M. Guhagarkar
Head of Technical Department
Mr. Niyas is an accomplished Chief Engineer with over years of sea-going experience, primarily on oil
tankers and gas carriers. His in-depth knowledge of vessel machinery, systems, and onboard operations
is complemented by significant shore-based experience in the technical management sector. He has
worked with multiple shipowners and ship management companies, actively involved in dry dock
planning and supervision, vessel deliveries, and technical procurement. His hands-on experience across
a wide range of vessel types and his exposure to complex technical operations make him a key pillar of
Alif Ship Management's engineering leadership.

Mr. Ganesh Kallayiramoorthy
Technical Manager
Mr. Ganesh is a highly skilled Marine Engineer with extensive hands-on experience aboard various gas
carriers, including LNG, LPG, ammonia, and ethylene tankers. His practical expertise in gas cargo
systems and shipboard machinery is reinforced by a successful shore-based career as a Shipyard
Manager in both Dubai and India. He has worked with numerous shipowners and management
companies, supporting vessel takeovers, purchase inspections, and technical assessments. He brings a
deep operational understanding and a solution-driven approach to company’s technical operations. His
broad exposure to both onboard engineering and shipyard operations makes him a valuable asset in
maintaining the reliability, efficiency, and compliance of the managed fleet.
Mr. Sarath Sasidharan Pillai
Head of QHSE Department
Mr. Sarath Sasidharan Pillai brings a comprehensive maritime background, having sailed on a wide range
of vessel types and later transitioning into shore-based roles across various sectors of ship
management. His expertise spans cargo handling, safety compliance, and marine operations, having
served as a Cargo Manager with different shipowners. With strong experience in both onboard
operations and shore-based safety systems, He is well-versed in implementing and auditing ISM, ISPS,
and MLC standards. As Head of the QHSE Department of this organization, he is responsible for
ensuring that all company operations and managed vessels maintain the highest levels of regulatory
compliance, safety culture, and environmental responsibility.
His well-rounded industry insight and proactive management style help drive a robust safety and quality
management system across the organization.

She has vast experience across various ship management companies, she plays a key role in managing
all purchase operations with a focus on timely delivery, cost control, and vendor integrity. Her industry
knowledge helps streamline the supply chain for both consumables and critical spares.

Head of Accounts
An MBA graduate with strong knowledge of financial management and maritime accounting. She
oversees budgeting, compliance, reporting, and cash flow planning, supporting the company’s financial
transparency and control.

Assistant Manager
An MBA in Ship Management and plays a central role in overseeing the company’s business
development, strategic initiatives, and overall performance. With a firm understanding of both technical
operations and commercial objectives, they are actively involved in driving growth, improving efficiency,
and strengthening client relationships. In addition to leading market outreach and partnership development, the Assistant Manager also
contributes to the day-to-day oversight of vessels under our management, ensuring smooth coordination
between technical, crewing, and compliance departments.
Ms. Arsha
Documentation & Compliance
A postgraduate professional with specialized experience in maritime documentation and regulatory
compliance. She has worked extensively in flag and class documentation departments, including with an
IACS-member classification society, gaining strong insight into certification processes, statutory
requirements, and regulatory frameworks.
She is responsible for overseeing all vessel and company documentation, including compliance with flag
state regulations, class requirements, and international standards such as ISM, ISPS, and MLC. Her
meticulous approach ensures that all managed vessels are audit-ready and fully compliant with maritime
conventions.
